| 1. | Abstract : benzotriazole is a good corrosion preventive compound that can reacts with aldehyde and alcohol . the addition reaction is used to synthesize eight alkoxyalkyl benzotriazoles by benzotriazole , propionaldehyde and methanol , ethanol , propanol , iso - propyl alcohol , n - but anol , iso - butanol , sec - butanol , tert - butanol . their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis , ir and 1hnmr . the mechanism of addition reaction was discussed
